Holy Angel’ Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Fairlands, Salem has been meeting the educational needs of Tamilnadu, especially Salem district for the past 48 years.

I deem it a great privilege to present the Annual Report for the year 2014-15.

The motto of our school is the harmonious development of LOVE AND SERVICE” as depicted in our emblem. June 2014 was indeed a year full of tremendous activities with pupils. I am very happy to inform about the excellent performance in the Plus 2 Examination. Our school topper C. Monisha scored 1186/1200. Out of 332 who appeared for the examination 18 in Accountancy, 10 in Commerce, 3 in Physics, 1 in Chemistry, 1 in Maths, 1 in Computer Science and 1 in Biology secured Centum respectively.

Holy Angels’ secured Cent percent result in SSLC Examination with 47 Centums in Science, 14 Centums in Maths and 10 Centums in Social Science. S.S. Shivaranjani excelled everyone with a total of 494/500. She added name and fame to the institution.

Our students are fortunate not only in their excellent academic training given to them, but also in the thoughtfully planned life training imparted here. Investiture Ceremony was presided over by Dr. A. Elangovan, Controller of Examinations Incharge, Periyar University, Salem. He enlightened the student with a talk on the leadership qualities.

The Clubs and Associations have been very active this year in conducting meetings and competitions and also sending students to participate in competitions conducted by ECCO MANIA (Knowledge Fest) G-Fest and Forum Artistas and displayed excellence and bagged first and second prizes.

Our students were the proud recipients of several prizes in the Zonal level Quiz Contest conducted by Tamilnadu Science Forum.

Our Angelites displayed their maestro-skills in the Bharat Scout and Guides Training Camp at Seshanchavadi. A lively Junior Red Cross cum study camp enabled the aspirants to go in pursuit of service to mankind.

Physical culture receives great importance in our scheme of education. Holy Angels’ is keen on developing the talent of upcoming sports stars. The Annual Sports Meet was conducted on 8th August 2014 with the concept of “Family Farming”.

Our Holy Angels’ sports stars achieved incredible success in the games organized by the Sports Development Authority. A.M. Divya Bharathi and her team won silver medal in the State level Inter School Volleyball Championship held at Kanchipuram from 28-8-14 to 31-8-14. Our School Volleyball team secured Second Place and was awarded with a trophy. “MOST VALUABLE PLAYER” award was given to S.B. Saranya XII-A. Our super athlete A. Sharley Angel XI-B won Gold Medal and secured 1st place in Discuss Throw and 2nd Place in Shot Put conducted by the Salem District Athletic Association held in Salem on 8-8-14 and 9-8-14.  I. Dhiyana IX-C won Gold Medal and secured 1st Place in district level conducted by the Salem Sports Development authority of Tamilnadu held in Salem on 7-11-14 and 8-11-14.

  1. Kaviya IX D secured 5th place in the National level Mini Championship Basketball Tournament held at Maharashtra from 22-11-14 to 28-11-14.  S. Kaviya IX D, S. Elamathi IX A and Sri Varshini won Silver Medal in Mini State Championship held in Seergazhi on 22-11-14.

P.S. Thekshidha XI-A won Gold Medal and secured I Place in Chess conducted by the School Education Department at Murugapatti.

  1. Miroslla XII-B won Gold Medal and secured 1st Place in Freestyle Butterfly Swimming in Divisional level conducted by School Educational Department held in Krishnagiri on 6-11-14.
  2. Sabitha, J. Sushmitha and G. Syeda amreen Tanaz XI-E won Gold Medal in the Bharathiyar Day Sports at Salem on 27-8-14.
  3. Hepzibah XII-A won Gold and secured 1st Place in Judo in Divisional level conducted by School Education department, Krishnagiri on 8-11-14.
  4. Vidhya IX-A won Gold Medal and secured 1st Place in 27th Tamilnadu State Taekwondo held in Chennai on 1-6-14.
  5. Sairakshaa XI E won Gold and Silver medal in State level Tamilnadu Roller Skating Association held in Kangeyam from 20-6-14 to 22-6-14.
  6. Pavithra XI-B, Katta Black Belt won Gold medal and secured 1st Place in State level Karate Budokai Martial Arts Association held in Coimbatore on 11-11-14 and 12-11-14.
  7. Harini IX-C, M. Aishwarya Devi IX-B, K.R. Karthika XII-E, R. Akshaya XI-A won Gold, Silver and Bronze Medal in Tennis Conducted by School Educational Department in Salem on 23-8-14 and brought laurels to Holy Angels

Our students exhibited their talents and abilities in the “Kalothsav” in Adaptune, Sindhanai varigal, Tamil Essay, Tamil Elocution, Poet Laureate, Turn Coat, Vision in a machine, Dyctiomarcy, Happy feel, jesters of Kalothsav, Make your move, Origami, Fruit carving, Silence Speaks and Einstein meets Fibonacci and bagged many prizes.

Annual Sports Meet was presided over by Mr. A. Amalraj, I.P.S., Commissioner of Police, Salem City and Dr. R.S.D. Wahida Banu, M.E., Ph.D., Principal of Government College of Engineering, Salem on 8-8-14.

Our beloved Principal Rev. Sr. Shanti is a proud recipient of the leadership Excellence Award 2014 in recognition of her outstanding contribution for the nation on the occasion of international summit on “INDIVIDUAL ACHIEVEMENTS AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES”.

On 23rd September 2014 our Principal Rev. Sr. Shanthi has been awarded the Rashtriya Vidya Saraswati Puraskar by the International Institute of Education and Management, New Delhi for outstanding achievements in the field of education.

We are also proud that our Principal Rev. Sr. Shanti has been awarded the glory of education Excellence Award on 4th March 2015 at New Delhi by International Institute of Education and Management, New Delhi for outstanding achievements in the field of education.

We are proud to announce that our Commerce P.G. Assistant  Mr. G. Charles Babu and Computer Science PG Assistant Mr. V. Ramasamy has been awarded “Shri P.K. Das Memorial Best Teacher Award 2015 for the States of Tamilnadu and Kerala” and honoured with the memento, cash award of Rs. 5000/- and certificate of excellence in recognition of their exemplary contribution and commitment in imparting knowledge to students in Commerce and Computer Science.

We are exhilarated to announce that our esteemed school received the “BEST SCHOOL AWARD 2015″ from our Ex-Mayor Mrs. Rekha Priyadarshini in a function organized by Arya Vysya Progressive Council. The prestigious Award was received by our meticulous Principal Rev. Sr. Shanti on 22-3-15.

Teachers’ Day celebration was presided over by Dr. C. Ventakachalam, M.A.M.Phil., Ph.D, Professor and Head of the Department of Sociology, Periyar University and Mrs. Usha Joseph, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry, Jyothi Nivas College, Bangalore. The Chief Guest rendered Valuable message on the concept of an “Efficient Teacher”.

Our staff Mr. V. Ramasamy, P.G. Assistant, Computer Science secured 2nd Place in District level Tamil Essay Writing Competition in connection with Teachers’ Day Competition 2014 conducted by Tamilnadu Science Forum.

Holy Angels’ takes special interest in celebrating all the National Festivals like Diwali, Ramzan and Christmas. Christmas Day celebration was presided over by Rev. Msgr. Philippe Verrier, Former Vicar General, Blois, France, Mr. Muthuraj, M.D., G.T.P. Marbles, Salem and Rev. Sr. Angela, FSM, Provincial Superior, Bangalore Province. Chief Guest enlightened the students on the concept of sharing, love and joy.

Pongal celebration and Prize Distribution Day was presided over by Dr. P. Susheela, Singe Padma Bhushan Awardee, Mr. L. Venkatachalapathy, M.A.,M.Ed., Inspector of Matriculation School, Salem and Dr. G. Vallarasi, M.A. M.Phil., Ph.D, Director, Sri Saradha Nikethan college of Arts and Science, Kanavaipudhur, Salem. It was a remarkable day of recognition of angelitics performance and achievements.

I thank God Almighty for the abundant blessings and peace showered on each and every one of us.
