Holy Angels’ Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Salem has been meeting the educational needs of Tamilnadu, especially Salem district for the past 45 years.
I deem it a great privilege to present the Annual Report for the year 2012 – 13.
The motto of our school is the harmonious development of “LOVE AND SERVICE†as depicted in our emblem.
June 2012 was indeed a year full of tremendous activities with 3140 pupils. I am very happy to inform about the excellent performance in the plus 2 examination. Our school topper S.Uma scored 1179 / 1200. Out of 279 who appeared for the examination   11 in Accountancy ,  7 in Commerce, 4 in Business Maths, 3 in Computer Science and 1 student secured centum in Chemistry respectively.
Holy Angels’ secured cent percent result in Matriculation examination with 17 centums in Science, 2 centums in Social Science and 1 centum in Maths. S.S.Deepthika excelled everyone with a total of 487 / 500. She added name and fame to the institution by achieving State rank in English with centum.
Our students are fortunate not only in their excellent academic training given to them, but also in the thoughtfully planned life training imparted here. Pledge Taking Ceremony was presided over by Mr.S.Chandra Mouli, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Salem and Namakkal District, Vigilance and Anti corruption. He enlightened the students with a talk on the leadership qualities.
The clubs and associations have been very active this year in conducting meetings and competitions and also sending students to participate in competitions conducted by Gold Fest and C – Fest and displayed excellence and bagged first and second prizes.
Our students were the proud recipients of several prizes in the science exhibition, for the programme “Ayyudham Seivoam, Veetuku oru vinyani†conducted by Puthiya Thalaimurai channel and were qualified for the state level.
Our Angelites  displayed their maestro-skills in the Bharat Scout and Guides training camp at Seshanchavadi. A lively Junior Red Cross cum study camp enabled the aspirants to go in pursuit of service to mankind.
Physical culture receives great  importance in   our    scheme of    education.  Holy Angels’ is keen on developing the talent of upcoming sport stars.  The Annual Sports Meet was conducted on 28th July 2012 with the concept of “SUSTAINABLE ENERGY FOR ALLâ€.
Our Holy Angels’ Sport stars achieved incredible success in the games organized by the Sports Development Authority. R. Dorathy Franscina, XII – C and B. Deepika      XII – C won Gold medal in 32nd Sub Junior National Ball Badminton championship held at Mangalore from 21.11.12 to 25.11.12. Our super athletes R. Glory Hepshiba, XII – A secured 3rd place in National Inter – District Junior Athletics Meet held at Ranchi in Discuss throw and N. Ganga, XII – A won gold medal in 4 x 100m relay in divisional.
R. Teena X – A secured 2nd place in Third National Basket Ball Tournament held at Kolkata and K.M. Nivetha, XII won 1st place in TamilNadu Basket Ball Association State championship and secured 2nd place in PYKKA State Championship held at Salem.         H. Nithiksha Rachel IX secured 2nd place in NBT and 3rd place in Mini State Championship.
P.S. Teeksidha X – D secured 4th place in Eighth Asian School chess Championship held at New Delhi.
R. Aishwarya and P. Mirosalla, XI won 1st place in free style butterfly swimming.
K.R. Karthika XI – E and R. Akshaya X – A won 1st place in Republic Day Sports Meet in lawn tennis at Tanjore.
V. Vidhya VIII – A won Gold Medal in Tamilnadu State Taekwondo and Republic Day State level sports.
A great applause to S.B. Saranya, S. Hema, Vasuki, A.M. Divya Bharathi, Harshavarthini, Pooja Karan, S. Shibisha, Jency, B. Priyanka, V. Vincy, Megamithra and M.Priyadharshini for winning the state title in Republic Day Games held at Tanjore and 2nd place in State Level Inter School Volleyball Tournament and in Beach volleyball.
Our gymnastics queen K. Sountharya XII – A won 9th place in International FISAF competition at Sydney in Australia and won 1st place in National ISAFF competition at Mumbai and participated in 56th School Games Federation of India at Pune and brought laurels to Holy Angels’.
Our students exhibited their talents and abilities in the “Kalothsav†in Adaptune, Reality show, General quiz, Kitchen corner, Scrap music, Science quiz, Hindi poetry writing, Just a minute etc and bagged many prizes.
Our students participated in the National Children’s service congress competition conducted by Tamilnadu Service Forum and were qualified for National level competition.
66th Independence Day Celebration and Inauguration of Citizen Consumer Club was presided over by Er.C. Mani, State Secretary, Tamilaga Latchya Kudumbam and         Dr.T. Anuradha, District Designated Officer, Food Safety Department, Salem Revenue District. Various programmes on patriotism and consumer Awareness were exhibited by the students.
Our outgoing students of XII – Std celebrated the special centenary occasion of 12.12.12 in a grand manner.
Holy Angels’ takes special interest in celebrating all the National Festivals like Diwali, Ramzan and Christmas. Christmas Day celebration was presided over by     Mr.M. Asokan, M.Sc, Commissioner, Salem Corporation and Rev.Fr. Selvam Francis Xavier, Director, Salem Social Service Society. Chief Guest rendered his valuable message on the concept of sharing, love and joy.
Prize Distribution Day was presided over by Thiru.K. Maharabushanam I.A.S. District Collector of Salem. Rev.Sr. Reeta Paul, F.S.M (Mother General, France) Rev.Sr.Angela, F.S.M. (Provincial, Bangalore Province) and Rev.Sr. Domnic, F.S.M. (France). It was a remarkable day of recognition of Angelities performance and achievements.
